A slowish burn

Mark 4:28 “For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head”

Line upon line
Faith upon faith
We are transformed
Grace upon grace.

By faith and patience
We inherit
Promises given
Gradually cherished.

First the seed
Then the stem
His Word & Spirit
Fills the head.

A slowish burn
From the Seed
And soiled turned.

My reading here. 30 seconds…

Inconvenient detours

God’s ways can seem twisted and winding
The right path seems short of the finding
The most convenient thing to do
But there’s a truth known by the few.

That evil tidings in the world abounds
Seeking to steal your victors crown
Unsuitable detours trod by the waiter
Are really God’s plan for something greater !.

Saul was the son of striving (1 Samuel 9:1 “son of Aphiah”). He had to find his fathers donkeys and after many travels and detours, he met Samuel who was to anoint him King. God found the donkeys for Saul in the end (grace is not striving but letting Him do the work).  The unsuitable, awkward and inconvenient detours made him see Samuel. Inconvenient detours may be in God’s plan for something greater. Later, the best part of the sacrifice was saved for Saul; it was set apart for him: 1 Samuel 9:24. Saul, through the inconvenient, came into God will and plan.

Grace comes

Verse 1

Grace comes.
To the believer
And to
Those whose receive it
For all
Sinners and sleepers,

Verse 2

Love comes
Into weakness
All inner secrets
From loss
Into completeness
Dark can’t stand light.

Chorus 1

Freely given
Freely offered
Freely taken
Is His best option
Freedom given
To those who see it
Like breathing air.

Verse 3

So says
The Great Keeper
And the
Great Deliverer
You can
Now discover
The power of the light.

Chorus 2

Darkness cannot
His light
which over runs
See the Greater
See the Person
Just look for Love
Just look for Love.

As I walk in You

A                       E                D

A                         F#m                      Bm
There’s no where else that gives me life

A            F#m
I turn my face to you

Take the focus off myself

A           F#m          Bm                   E                A
My everyday life is being renewed as I walk in You.

Found this in the archives. Wrote this for a house group. I have totally forgotten the tune. I even forgot I composed this…but it was relevant to what God was revealing to that group at the time.

I’m not who I used to be

You can listen to, or download the song here. (2.2mb. 2.23 mins)

You exchanged my life for your own
Grace came down to me from Your throne,
Now Your life has changed me from within
The Glories of Your goodness make me sing,

Holy, Righteous, Beloved Son of God,
Gracious, Jesus, showed us Father’s Love,
Now You’ve given us Your Glory
Your Truth has now set me free
I’m not who I used to be
No I’m not who I used to be.

The unseen to the seen

The fresh snow air
Blows across her face,
Reveals her silken heart
Established in His grace,
Dressed in royal purple
Worthy of a queen
Revealing inner beauty
The unseen to the seen.

Cos Christ lives in me

When I think of all the things that I have gained
Paid in blood
Proven love
This grace so freely given softens every blow
Melts the heart
Made of stone
Now I can sing, with everything in me,

God is Love
God is Grace
God is Peace
God is Rest
His glories flowing through me,

He’s my Rock
He’s my strength
He’s my Life
He’s my breath
All this cos Christ lives in Me.

the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:26, 27 NKJV)

Grace is power

The grace that comes in the heavenly spade
Paid by the God of the great exchange
Surpasses the cleansing of conscience and sin
And reaches into the nature within.

For we are gifted the power of God
Who greatly and freely covered the cost,
That we can house His nature and power
That doesn’t fade like a self-willed flower.

This power and nature cuts off the source
Of the rotting life birthed in our lust,
Replaced by the power that now can be traced
To the unforced tune and rhythms of grace.

as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (II Peter 1:3, 4, 11 NKJV)

The cat who got the cream

There was a cat who was lost and alone
He had no life and he had no home
It seemed his life was headed for disaster
Until the day he met the master.

The cat had finally found his place
In the haven of his master’s grace
The master provided all his needs
As well as a drink and life giving feed.

But after the master cleaned him up
From his past life and accumulated junk
It was time to give him something more
So he gave the cat an eternal call.

The master imparted a brand new purpose
So he could pass on the value of purchase
The call of the master fulfilled him it seems
For he is the cat who got the cream.

Sowing for the next generation

I may never see it
The fruit of the message
Of the new covenant
But I’ll plant a heritage,

I know it’ll take
Another generation
To experience the life
Of A revelation,

Of the Christ within
And how to live
From the vine-life source
Given as a gift,

For there’s minds to change
Strongholds to destroy
For a new expression
Of Grace deployed,

It’s quite frustrating
But I’ll keep on sowing
So the Kingdom of God
Can keep on growing.
