Grace comes

Verse 1

Grace comes.
To the believer
And to
Those whose receive it
For all
Sinners and sleepers,

Verse 2

Love comes
Into weakness
Healing
All inner secrets
From loss
Into completeness
Dark can’t stand light.

Chorus 1

Freely given
Freely offered
Freely taken
Is His best option
Freedom given
To those who see it
Like breathing air.

Verse 3

So says
The Great Keeper
And the
Great Deliverer
You can
Now discover
The power of the light.

Chorus 2

Darkness cannot
Overcome
His light
which over runs
See the Greater
See the Person
Just look for Love
Just look for Love.

Eternal security

What can pluck me from His hand (John 10:28)
Now He’s made His covenant stand, (Isaiah 42:6)
Now assured that I am His (Colossians 3:3)
The fear is gone that Him I’ll miss. (1 John 4:18)

The root supports the feeble branch (Romans 11:18)
Vine life flows to Him who stands, (John 15:4-5)
In the faith of Christ received (Galatians 2:20)
And security Christ achieved. (Hebrews 10:14)

As quick as a thought

As quick as a thought
I abide in Christ
reach out to the vine
unplug his Life. 1

As quick as a thought
I open the door
unlocking the grace
assured by the sworn. 2

As quick as a thought
I realise the peace
that cushions the blow
at the heavenly seat. 3

All that I need
focused on the Lord
in the twinkled eye
As quick as a thought. 4,5

1. John 15:4-5 “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

2. Hebrews 6:13-17 “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath…”

3. Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”

4. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

5. Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—think on these things. Romans 12:2 “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Why no’ live there ?

Christ has not come to keep us in chains
There is no gift of wilderness
There is no gift of living in a desert
Why live there ?.

The preacher cries how to live
In the place where there is waterless clouds
To assist you in a wandering place
Why live there ?.

The river does not flow dry
The clouds are not waterless
Cross over the Jordan to the other side
Why not live there ?.

The storm is past so the bagpipe can play
The tune of the redeemed
In the place that God builds
Why no’ live there ?

———————————————————

For he (Abraham) looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. (Hebrews 11:10 KJV)

My beloved spoke, and said to me: “Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away. For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away! (Song of Solomon 2:10-13 NKJV)

If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth…(Ecclesiastes 11:3 NKJV)

Note: this poem is a wee response to all the preaching about telling people how to “live in the desert…how to live in the wilderness”. What good is it to live there ?. Cross the Jordan…get to the other side and live in the place where God has provided for you; in the life of Christ !. Lets not learn to live in the desert, but learn to live in the promised land. The giants may be big, but a believer is not a grasshopper but more than a conqueror because a Jesus has already conquered !. We just enjoy the spoils !.

Fool for Christ

When you are misunderstood
And people treat you like slime,
Because you love His Kingdom
Then you are a fool for Christ.

With your head now above the trench
You abandon the rest of your life,
To the message that brings disdain
Then you are a fool for Christ.

When you know how to go without
And you know how to be abased,
Your presence meets disapproval
Then you are a fool for Christ.

Others are so highly esteemed
And honourable in the crowd’s sight,
And your not in their prestigious company
Then you are a fool for Christ.

But you love the God who loved you first
And proud you’re identified,
With a no-reputation Jesus
Then you are a fool for Christ.

1 Corinthians 4:10 As for us, we are fools on account of Christ. But as for you, you are members of the intelligentsia in your union with Christ. As for us, we are those who are frail and infirm. But as for all of you, you are those who are mighty. As for all of you, you are those who are illustious, honorable, held in esteem by others. But as for us, we are those whom no one respects. Empty words

Let no one deceive you with empty words… (Ephesians 5:6 NKJV)

Empty words from another kingdom
Try to fill our head,
Educated nothingness filling our ears
From empty women and men.

Cheating souls with empty deceit
Philosophy with no power,
Empty tradition and empty deceit
Fill airwaves that seem to be louder.

An appearance of wisdom and philosophy
Are really empty words,
But when you see Christ and all His fulness
Their emptiness shows as absurd.

For in Him is the fullness of God
No emptiness or deceit,
For it’s only by being in the kingdom of God
I’m not empty but In Him I’m complete.

Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Colossians 2:8-10 NKJV)

And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. (John 1:16 NKJV)
