If you think you get it by…

If you think you get it by reading a book
Throw it away, it was only a hook.

If you think you get it by reading my tweets
I have a Friend I’d like you to meet.

If you think you get it by five easy steps
Be led by the Spirit, He’s here to help.

If you think you get it by a preacher man
You forgot who owns the Sower’s hand.

If you think you get it by overhead slides
Just refocus on Him who abides.

If you think you get it by going to church
Go back to the One who loved you first.

If you think you get it by clicking on Facebook
Shutdown your iPad and open the Gracebook.

If you think you get it by knowledge and mind
You’ll always be searching and never find.

Come know the Son by the Holy Spirit
And then finally, you will surely get it !.

There is an old chinese proverb that says if you think you will understand a matter by reading a book, then don’t read the book. The point being that truth is to experienced; not just read about, talked about or preached. You cannot understand God by reading about Him. He is “manifold”; not single dimensional. You cannot put Him in an explanatory box. Jesus is to be experienced through the Spirit…only then will you “get it”.

Ears to hear

“He that has ears to hear”
Is a strange saying of Christ,
But if you know what He’s thinking
It will unlock a door to His Life.

Don’t be too legalistic
Is what the Teacher is saying,
If you look for a hidden meaning
You’ll miss the point He is making.

But look at the heart of the parable
For the parables are about the heart,
How the Word interacts within it
That’s where the Kingdom starts.

If “you have an ear to hear”
You don’t have to look too deep,
Just receive and believe His Word
And your harvest will grow with the seed.

But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.” And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, (‭Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭8-11‬ NKJV)

Getting older

Getting older…
Where my knees wear out quicker than my shoes
Where my hair grows inward through my ears and nose
Where I bend my knees to touch my toes
Yet the brain tells the body “anything still goes”.

Getting older…
Where my bones sound like the crack of a whip
The hormones scream “I don’t want to dip”
Too much cycling has worn the hips
You dribble they coffee after a hot sip.

But getting older
You know the truth from the lies
The experience of life means you’re now wise
You no longer need the old soul ties
Because you’ve experienced the Life of Christ.

It’s all about your heart

“It’s all about your faith”
The preacher advises with best intentions.

But faith is not self created
It is not a by product of reading the Bible
Like diesel is a by product of petrol.

Belief is a by product of a straight heart
Produced in rest
Like a butterfly from a caterpillar,
Becoming what it is predestined to become;
The Seed producing its congealed life as a crop
Some thirty fold, some sixty fold, some a hundred fold.

Yet rest is a by product of a renewed mind:
Changing your mind to what God has already changed.

The Life is Christ Himself
Just like His Seed
Therefore it’s His faith in our new heart
Which He gave at the new creation.

His faith
My heart
His Seed
My belief
His Word
My blessing
His Soverienty
My Responsibility
His Fruit
My fruit
Two lives infused
Two spirits become one.

Now the same word
Now the same glory…

“It’s all about your heart”.

Securely held

None can take you from His hand
Those who are the christian band
The Everlasting covenant stands
In the spiritual promise land.

Where sin abounds, grace does more
By Himself the covenant swore
For those who enter by the door
Securely held within His claw.

No longer separate by a sin
For He’s in you and you’re in Him
He even made you next of kin
An heir of Grace, and heir of Him.

Covenant made before our time
Sacrificed son was crucified
Covenant formed by those who find
A Love extreme and pure and kind.

Living from completeness

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. (‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭9-10‬ NKJV)

Being complete in Him
Changes everything !.

New source
New position
New creation: something that never existed before
New springboard
New catapult.

Nothing more to gain
Nothing now to lose.

Resting from works
Working from rest,
Working only to comprehend completeness.

Living from the Gift
Not living to it
As you ought to be
Perfect and complete
Changes everything !.

The inconvenience of truth

The inconvenience of truth
Is that life comes from death,
Most inconvenient for Christ
Himself who was gladly spent.

Who loved more
To be loved less,
Who gave all
To be a curse,
Gave His riches
To become skint,
Yet kept His focus
And set His face like flint.

The Seed put Himself into the ground
The promise of itself
Reproducing what it paid for
Motivated by love
Most inconvenient.

Shinty town

Pine trees mingle into the green
The bonnet is wet with the clouds
Curling roads are full of promise of the joy around the corner
The windscreen and the highlands become twins
Sleepy wipers clear the way for the first sign
“Shinty this afternoon. 2:30pm throw up”
Anticipation and adrenalin become back seat drivers
Shiny streets smile their gaelic welcome
Brick buildings, holy and steadfast announce “you’ve arrived”
Pubs with antlers on the wall mop up stray pedestrians
Cars, single file and hypnotized
Crawl through the Main Street then turn right
Where they reach the sticky car park with tyre tracks thousands of years old
Misty highland backgrounds give an apostolic reminder of where you are
Then whispers to the locals; “custodian”
Highland glen
Shinty men
Shinty town.

A visitor’s account of spending a weekend in a shinty town.

I’ve been robbed !

The lady’s eyes pierce the room
Pen in hand, bible on lap
Her mind succumbs to the revelation
The Spirit’s scalpel opens up the lies of 23 years
The operation has begun,
Softened heart, new eyesight, renewed mind.

The double vision of her Saviour
Gives way to a new lens
Causing her to see her heavenly husband for the first time,
The new covenant power source turn the lights on
She no longer sees trees walking
The crusty heart marshmellows then melts.

She yells out “I’ve been robbed for 23 years !
Why didn’t I see this before” ?.
Anger turns to tears
The veil of blindness rips from top to bottom
As she sees Christ at the Spirit’s prompting.

The Spirit speaks
Reveals Jesus
Reveals the lies
Reveals the truth.

A new identity unleashed on the world
A new joy breaks out of her cage
Escaped !.
The prophetic word and hugs bring comfort
Assures the heart and mind.

No longer robbed
No longer plundered
A new life flows
Like the powerful Clyde.

A true story of a lady who has begun to live. It was a home group…on the bank of the “powerful” Firth of Clyde

But this is a people robbed and plundered; All of them are snared in holes, And they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, “Restore!” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭42‬:‭22‬)

Jesus is perfect theology

Jesus is perfect theology
For in Jesus all things exist
The All in All.

The Life
The Way
The Truth
The Focus
The Banner
The Fullness
The Standard
The Plumbline
The Cornerstone.

The marrow of bone of my bone
The blood of the flesh of my flesh.

There is no danger of building a crooked building
Of doubtful theology
Of living on the fringe
The unhelpful
If one builds along the plumbline

Here is consumate doxology;
Jesus is perfect theology.

And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. (‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ NKJV)

For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭30‬ NKJV)

And the LORD said to me, “Amos, what do you see?” And I said, “A plumb line.” Then the Lord said: “Behold, I am setting a plumb line In the midst of My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore. (‭Amos‬ ‭7‬:‭8‬ NKJV)

Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion A chief cornerstone, elect, precious, And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” (‭I Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬ NKJV)

having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone, (‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭20‬ NKJV)
