The fourth man in the fire

Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” (Daniel 3:20-25 NKJV)

The fourth man in the fire
Walks among the flames,
With resurrection blood
That flows inside His veins,
The Captain of salvation
Fights to take the strain,
So you are no Lone Ranger
Against an enemy’s game.

The fourth man in the fire
Is together now with you,
You both now are conjoined
Like stars and silver moons,
Or highland views and heather
guitars and comfort tunes,
Assured of singing hope
Allowed for faithful few.

The fourth man in the fire
Rejects the popular vote,
That consequences deserve
You swing on your own rope,
The heat can turn up high
But you don’t smell of smoke
The fourth man in the fire
Simply turns up high the hope.
